CASINO

I just went to the casino to lose ten bucks right away. I wasn’t actually expecting to get out with a fortune, that money was to be spent there but I just thought that I was going to have a little better luck. At least I understood how people could get addicted to it; you always think or have the hope of winning the next time, “just one more chance with the possibility of doubling or tripling what you start with” so you start over and over again. In my particular case I liked the roulette with which you have the option of betting to the black or the red colors that, except for two green numbers, compose the roulette. That means almost fifty percent probability of winning that make you think “yea, why not giving just another chance?” Then, if you have two chances to gamble, and you already lose the first one, your mind automatically will come to the reasoning of “well, if I have fifty percent probability of wining on one chance, I MIGHT HAVE HUNDRED PERCENT PROBABILITY OF WINING IF I PLAY TWO TIMES”. But you know what? YOU DON'T, you keep having fifty percent probability and even less! This machine I was playing on, an electric-operated one with three dollars minimum bet (the human-operated one was ten dollars minimum bet) had two green numbers, cero and double cero, that were getting six to seven percent probabilities that also diminishes your supposedly fifty percent probability of wining by betting only to the black or the red, even or odd, or numbers one to eighteen or nineteen to thirty six.

In conclusion, gambling is a business, and one of the post profitable ones, but that's for the owners of that “movida” [1]. If you're a gambler, you better look for profit somewhere else and don't spend it all in gambling. Even better; try to find a healthier or more philanthropic way of spending your money. Anyways, in any case you start winning like that group of nerds from an Ivy League University that were calculating probabilities, you will get caught by the police. Now there is a law that makes illegal to calculate, meaning practically that it’s illegal to win in a fucking casino. Yea, that’s the way it is… incredible hum?!
